M-School title: Video Intern
Post-secondary institution: University of Toronto, Mississauga
Program of study: Communications and Professional Writing

My favourite thing about the M-School program was the huge range of shoots that I got to participate in. One day, I’d be shooting a food video, and the next day I would be shooting an artist backstage before their concert. I was also extremely fortunate to have a video team that is supportive and helped me along the way, especially with trying out new gear or giving me tips for my edits. The ever changing days and the supportive environment made M-School very enjoyable for me this summer.

What were your primary tasks?

  • Shooting and editing projects for the various magazines.

Describe one day in the workplace.

The magic about working in the video unit is that you’re never really doing the same thing, every day is different based on what projects you’re assigned. You can be shooting one day and editing in the next one.

What is your dream job?

Directing films that I write.
