M-School gave me the opportunity to insert myself into a corporate work environment, something I had never experienced before. I learned a lot about how a company operates, how business teams collaborate, and how the digital media industry works. I was able to develop my skills – research, writing, presenting – in a new direction and that was very valuable to me.
What were your primary tasks?
- Writing daily top news stories
- Market Research, focus groups
Describe one day in the workplace.
This is hard to do because all of my days were so different! I’d begin each day by checking the daily publishing schedules for all the Rogers publishing brands, and then assembling my morning newsletter. I’d end my days by doing the same for my evening newsletter. In the middle, I might conduct a few market research interviews, write a report, attend a meeting, write some copy for Custom Content…really each day was different and that is something I truly enjoyed.
What is your dream job?
I’m still not sure how to answer that one. I’d love a job that allows me to work with people, to think critically and analytically about issues that matter, and to always be challenged.
